Wow. This one has taken a bit to sink in. My baby brother is married.
The day was Friday, September 30th. The time was 4:30pm. Honestly, it couldn’t have been more beautiful. It was teetering on the end of summer, and beginning of fall, not too cold with that fresh fall air. They even got a dose of good luck, as it rained right after their ceremony.
This was my first visit to Stonewall Farms, I generally stick to wedding venues within a 45-minute radius now that we have kiddos at home, but of course, as one does we totally make exceptions for family. The grounds were gorgeous and the buildings on site were perfect (except for the pesky little Gardner snake outside of the bridal suite!!).
The bridal suite made for a stunning backdrop for everyone to get ready and all the details.
Elly’s blush pink made my heart flutter. Her details were the perfect mix of elegance and classic style.
Being the only daughter (I have two brothers) of the family and leaving my maiden name behind over ten years ago when I got married, I had to do a double take at Elly’s gorgeous jewelry case. I guess this means I’m no longer the only girl in the family.
I was so excited to photograph Cody and Elly’s first look in this sea of pine trees. Ahhhhhhhhh, every photographer’s dream. There are not many locations nearby me, so this was a real treat.
This swing detail at Stonewall Farms is just GORGEOUS! I love a fun swing!
Turns out pre-ceremony bride and groom portraits also makes for a great time to pin down your first dance choreography.
The lake was absolutely gorgeous on Friday. Look at how the water sparkled for them! And those fluffy, blue clouds.
For the bridal party group photos, we returned to the pines!
My Ellie absolutely adored being Cody & Elly’s flower girl for the day! Elly’s sister Maddie was even sweet enough to do her hair into these adorable braids that the flower grown sat atop. Talk about a four-year-old’s heaven.
Normally I photograph weddings for people who I adore but have no connection with outside of working with them on their wedding, so it was crazy to photograph a wedding with family in the bridal party (I spy two brothers and a cousin in this group of guys).
Elly’s maid of honor was sweet enough to grab my camera and take the photos that I was in so I wouldn’t totally miss out on the wedding experience!
The hanicap-accessible barn at Stonewall Farms was absolutely PERFECT for their wedding dance!
