Ready for some quick senior picture tips!? Everyone wants to look their best in their pictures whether it be an iPhone selfie or a professional photo shoot. Here are 5 quick easy tips to help you look your best the next time you have your photo taken.
1. HAC instead of flat foundation
Using this simple highlight and contour (HAC) foundation technique helps define your cheek and jawline, giving you that Hollywood look. Not sure what it is? Do a quick google search, there are tons of tutorials out there and it is easier than it sounds!
2. Remove the hairbands
This one is super simple, just remember to slip off your hairbands on the way to your session. Or even better, avoid wearing your hairbands for a few hours prior to your session to avoid those dreaded imprints. And bonus, if you are an avid apple watch wearer, be sure to spend some time in the sun without your watch to avoid the apple watch tan line.
3. Pick fitted but not overly tight clothing for your senior pictures
Extra baggy outfits can hide your shape and skintight outfits can bring attention to any flaws or undergarment straps. Finding that balance sometimes feels like an impossible task, but well worth it when you find your perfect match.
4. Add accessories to define your style!
This simple trick can take your photos from ordinary to wow, do not underestimate the power of a bold necklace, stunning shoes, or other accessories. Or as you can see in this photo, you can almost never go wrong with a stylish hat! This particular hat and dress are both from The Nines. You can see more of this styled shoot with The Nines & Turn North Salon and Spa here.
5. Dress it up a notch
Your style is everything and dressing it up a bit adds an extra layer of class and style to your senior pictures. This lovely sequin dress is available for you to wear in the style closest. Just let me know at your session if you want to try this or one of the other outfits on.
Bonus tip: Want your senior pictures to be extra “you”? Incorporate your personality by bringing along props that represent your favorite hobbies or sports to include in your pictures. This helps make your session interesting and uniquely you!
