The main difference between my senior session packages is the amount of time included. Each package includes digital images and my signature editing. This will likely lead you to the question, how long should my senior session be? Right now I offer three session packages.
Session Package Options:
- 30 minutes
- 90 minutes
- 2.5 hours
While I find 90 minutes to be the perfect sweet spot for most seniors, it is awesome to have options! I highlight the 90-mintue senior package option on the high school senior portraits page.
The Sweet Spot, 90 Minute Senior Session
For years I just offered one senior package offering, the 90-minute session. It is perfect for 2-4 outfits and we can hit up multiple nearby locations. For sessions at the farm, sometimes we use multiple locations all on the farm property and sometimes we do part of the session at the farm and part of the session at one of the nearby lakes. Check out some location inspiration here.
If you choose three outfits that gives us 30 minutes per outfit, we’ll spend some of that time changing, some of that time moving to the location and then most of it photographing that particular outfit. Four outfits gives us about 20 minutes per outfit. We can do more outfits in a 90-minute session, but we plan at the beginning of the session which outfits are most important to make sure we give your favorite outfits the most amount of time. I keep an eye on my watch during your session to make sure we have enough time for all your dreams, goals, and ideas!
In summary, 90 minutes is just the perfect balance between just enough time and not too much. We can fit in several ideas and yet not be completely exhausted at the end.
The Glam, 2.5 Hour Senior Session
This session is perfect if you want to use locations that are more than just a couple of miles apart and/or just want more time. Want images both downtown and in the country, this session option is for you! Looking to incorporate multiple sports (or lets say horses!!), this session might be for you. Have tons of outfits or just don’t want to feel rushed, have more time to settle into each pose, this session might be for you.
The Mini, 30 Minute Session
This is the perfect session for senior guys who just want an outfit or two. Your mom will be happy with the variety of images you get from the session and it’s also not too long or overwhelming. It is also a great option if you want a simple studio session.
If you plan on one outfit, that one outfit gets the entire 30 minutes of time, or two outfits get 15 minutes each. It’s short and sweet but not so little time that we won’t be able to get some variety. If you plan two outfits, go for one dressy and one casual for maximum variety!
Add On Options
If you want something special outside of the regular senior session we have options for that too! Just ask about adding them on when booking for a special add-on price.
Off Season Winter Mini Senior Session
This option is perfect for someone who wants something outside with the snow, with a winter sport, or in the studio over winter. These sessions take place over the months of November – March. Some winter sports we have highlighted at one of these sessions include hockey and curling.
Family Mini Session
These are 15 minutes and take place right before your senior session. Perfect if your mom wants that Christmas card taken care of at the same time as your senior session. I know how hard it can be to get ready and find time to book a session, so why not get it all taken care of at once especially if you are in the area on vacation or visiting the lake. This can be added to any of the three senior session packages.
So, How Long Should My Senior Session Be?
The ultimate answer is, it depends. Hopefully, these descriptions help you pick the perfect option for you! Also, be aware that every photographer is going to have a slightly different shooting style and speed of moving through outfits and poses, so this will vary a bit from photographer to photographer, but this should give you a good starting point!
