Pageant headshots always bring me back to that one time in my high school years I competed in Miss Hawley. Even though it was a local, non-circut pageant, it gave me a great level of respect for the talent and speaking skills these pageant contestants have! Let’s just say I decided I wasn’t cut out for the stage life, but I do love playing a little part on the sidelines of capturing these photos.
I was lucky enough to get to work with Miss Frazee Mollee Byer on her Miss Minnesota Pageant Headshots as she prepares to compete in Miss Minnesota. This session took place in the Amber Langerud Photography home studio space.
Mollee brought two outfit options to her session, a beautiful blue that complimented her eye color and a classic black and white dress that looked great with a bold lip.
We took a variety of images both with and without the crown so Mollee would have photos to submit to the pageant as well as share on her social media channels.
I loved this fun comparison of natural lips vs a bold lip. What a difference it made! That bold lip really helped Mollee’s face pop with this monotone outfit.
Mollee really brought this simple blue top to life by adding a statement necklace. Accessories are an excellent way to add a little extra pop to your outfit.
We kept most of the posing very simple and classic for these Miss Minnesota Pageant Headshots, but if you know me, you know I can’t help but throw in a little bit of fun creative posing after all the safe images have been captured!
