These two, all their details, the location, their family and friends and the love they share (just look at the way they look at each other), it all stole my heart! I love weddings, especially when you get that special emotional vibe of the love the bride and groom share and the way their family and friends love and support that and these two had that.
It was a beautiful fall Friday in Minnesota, holding on to the last of the warm October weather but in good fall fashion we also had a nice breeze with some gusts. The location was The Barn at Dunvilla, a new location for me to work at and it was amazing! The groom was the first of the wedding party on site, we got to chat for a few minutes as we waited for the rest to arrive. The morning started off with some stunning details in the amazing bridal suite at The Barn at Dunvilla, I loved the lace details in the dress, the nude shoes (wow, how stunning, especially for flats!!), the burlap and lace accents and the rustic wood feel of the suite. Danielle and her family did many of the details for the big day including the invitations, the garter, flowers etc. And wow, they did an amazing job, DIY projects that looked simply flawless!
I was lucky enough to have my husband Luke with me for this wedding day so as I spent time with the ladies he hung out with Jake, got some getting ready shots and a few portraits inside the lower half of the barn. Luke does such a great job working with the guys and I appreciate him for it!
Once we had all the beautiful details ready and the bride and groom prepped for the day, it was time for the first look. And their first look was tear-jerking, these two have such a beautiful sweet love for each other! After the first look we took some portraits inside the gorgeous barn loft and then moved outdoors and braved the wind for some beautiful bride and groom portraits. As you will notice, we also took some portraits later on with Danielle’s flannel shirt and then again after the ceremony during golden hour to get some of the soft evening light!
From the bride and groom portraits we transitioned into the bridal party and then family portraits before sneaking everyone away before the ceremony. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, Danielle & Jake incorporated a unique unity cross rather than the more typical unity candle or sand, very cool!
The reception is where their DJ company Harmon Entertainments ability to entertain and make for a fun and exciting evening really shines through! Everything from the introductions of the bridal party to the “Be Our Guest” food presentation to the reading of the love story, great time! Well enough of my interpretation of the day, here are some beautiful photos that do some speaking for themselves!
How seriously cute are these flats!!!
Now that everyone is all fancied up and details are in place, its time for a first look!
We took a walk over to a clump of trees in hopes of getting out of the wind.
And we took another little walk to go check out this awesome tree on the property where they do some outdoor ceremonies!
We walked over to a second location to get some variety for the bridal party portraits.
I am loving this trend of my fall brides choosing to have their family portraits taken outside!
We couldn’t help but take a few portraits with Danielle’s awesome flannel shirt because lets face it, it was a bit of a flannel over your wedding dress kind of day (and how cute is she in that shirt!).
As guests arrive they were greeted with this beautiful and well curated “guestbook” table and gift table.
And a candy bar!!
After the ceremony we headed outside for just a few more ‘golden hour’ portraits to give the newly weds a few moments alone together and of course to get them some more awesome portraits!
This newly wedded joy!!!
Now time for some party!!!
And now my second favorite part of the day (bride and groom portraits of course being my favorite), the dance!
