Introducing Sarah, Miss Northwest Pageant winner 2015!
I have known Sarah ever since we were just kids showing our horses in 4-H, we had a 4 or 5 year age gap so we were never super close friends but fun acquaintances. Since then Sarah has moved on to be a very successful individual, working through college and competing in beauty pageants and me, well I am now a photographer and still a horse lover, but you are not here to learn about me :).
So naturally, I was pumped when Sarah asked me to take her Miss Northwest Pageant headshots for the Miss Minnesota Pageant. I took Sarah’s senior pictures (she was a GIVING SENIOR GIVE-AWAY Winner) and I took headshots for her once before. If you follow my work, you know I do not do “studio” work often, but it was so much fun, especially since it is winter and kinda chilly outside! My indoor work is very “Sue Bryce” natural light style, which has a very simple beautiful and light look. Sarah’s session took place at the Amber Langerud Photography in home studio.
Sarah brought two outfits to her session. The first was a short, bright pink dress and necklace from Kittsona Boutique in Fargo, and the second a stunning full length red dress. Hair and make-up by Tamara Davison.
It’s always good to get a great laughing/genuine emotion photo at pageant headshot sessions too! Headshots do not need to live up to their stiff, formal reputation.
P.S. from what I know of Sarah, she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside! Be on the lookout for her at Miss Minnesota this summer.
