I am so excited that you are interested in choosing Amber Langerud Photography to document your wedding. I believe in finding that perfect balance between fairytale and documenting the day in a truthful way. Its where gorgeous photography meets realistic expectations.

As a wife and now mom, I believe in marriage. I believe marriage is a wonderful partnership that is worthy of being celebrated. You are worthy of being celebrated and your marriage is important. This is about more than just one day, but instead the start of a new adventure.

I am here to provide support and help you create the stress free images of your dreams! (also if your wedding and/or engagement session happens to include horses, that is a huge plus!!)

You are so interesting even if you don't think so and I cannot wait to hear your story and what dream wedding looks like.

We might be a great fit if you love outdoor, natural looking photos, and you never want to have to worry about what to do with your hands. And it is always an added bonus if you think horses are awesome ;).

First and foremost you should do an engagement session because it’s fun. You get to pamper yourself and dress up and focus on each other for an hour.

Not only are engagement sessions a great time for the two of you, it is a great time for me to get to know you and how you interact with your significant other. Every couple is different in how they interact and pose. Taking the time to have an engagement session with me, gives me a chance to learn all these little details so I will know what poses and angles look best for your bride and groom pictures on wedding day.

While I am a photographer and not a wedding planner, I am here to help if you ask and love to support my couples. To make sure I get to know YOU and get you the images of your dreams I use a two part questionnaire process.

The first questionnaire is early on and is all about your relationship, who you are as individuals and as a couple. The second questionnaire is all about your wedding day, finalizing those details and making sure I have all the details I need before showing up.

I know first hand (married in 2012) that figuring out the timeline and how long everything takes can be STRESSFUL. Here is a sample to give you some ideas.

At the farm we have many natural landscape options such as talk grass, trees, hills and open fields. Here is one tree inspired location.

The various grassy areas around the farm make for fun and gorgeous natural background elements that look good in full body and tight crop images.

We don't get this lucky for every session, but I know all the places around the farm and surrounding areas to get the BEST sunsets!

While this is 100% your choice, I always recommend a first look when your wedding day will allow for it. Why you might ask? Because it allows us to get all the portraits (including those family portraits) done before the ceremony. This allows you to focus on partying and having a great time after the 'I DOs'!!

I know - no one ever wants to talk about the money. Around here we try to keep it as simple as possible. There is an $800 non refundable retainer due to secure your wedding date and the remainder is due 30 days prior to your wedding date.

Each one of your images is edited with care to ensure a natural, but yet slightly magical feel. You don't want trendy filters but you also don't want dull. We find that perfect in-between.

For Photos that stand the test of time

Engagement sessions are awesome and fun, but they also help me get to know you so your wedding portraits are more meaningful. Not to mention less stressful since we already know and have worked with each other!

I am not a big fan on having my pictures taken, why should I have an engagement session?

Unless you've modeled professionally, you're probably going to feel awkward in front of the camera. Heck, I take photos for a living and feel like an awkward mess when the camera is pointing at me.

You're going to feel awkward at first, but as the session goes on and I coach you through images, I think you'll find that being photographed can actually be fun!!

I'm Awkward and don't know what to do with my hands

I recommend bringing along 1-2 outfits for you and your fiancé. If you bring two outfits, pick one dressy and one casual look. This allows for the optimal variety from your session!! (I'm all about that variety!)

How many outfits should I bring with for the engagement session?

Engagement sessions typically last 1-1.5 hours and usually take place at the farm my husband and I own near Audubon, MN.

However, if you have another location that is meaningful to you, let me know, I also love to work in new places!

How long do engagement sessions last and where do they take place?

You receive a print release which gives you the right to print the digital files provided to you after the wedding day for personal use.

What is a print release? Can I print the pictures from my wedding day?

I do not guarantee a certain number of images since every wedding day is so unique, however you will most likely receive 50-75 images per hour of wedding coverage.

How many pictures do I get from my wedding day?

I reserve the right to use images from your wedding/engagement shoot on facebook as sneak peeks, on my website, in submissions and occasionally in brochures etc.

Are pictures from my wedding/engagement shoot used in your marketing?

To officially reserve your date, please send an email to Amber (amber@amberlangerud.com), and we'll get your date reserved on my calendar. Once your retainer is paid and contract is signed, we will start the fun things (like planning your engagement session)!
